Sustainability Pledge

At Emma Andrews – The Holiday Village, I recognise that responsible travel plays a vital role in safeguarding the environment, supporting local communities, and ensuring the long-term wellbeing of destinations. I therefore commit to operating with integrity, accountability, and transparency, making decisions that contribute to a more sustainable and ethical travel industry.

My Pledge

1. Minimising Waste & Environmental Impact

I aim to prioritise digital documentation and communication wherever operationally feasible, with the intention of reducing paper use and associated waste. Printed materials are provided only upon explicit customer request. I regularly review my operational practices to identify practical opportunities to reduce waste and lower my environmental footprint, recognising that reductions may vary depending on operational and customer requirements.

2. Promoting Responsible and Ethical Travel

I aim to guide customers towards travel experiences that take into account local communities, cultural heritage, ecosystems, and wildlife. Where appropriate, I encourage choices that may help minimise negative impacts associated with tourism, while supporting greater awareness of social and environmental considerations within host destinations. Any wildlife-related recommendations are made in line with my Animal Welfare Policy, which sets out the standards I expect suppliers and activities to meet in relation to animal wellbeing and ethical treatment.

3. Partnering with Ethical and Sustainable Suppliers

I seek to prioritise partnerships with tour operators, accommodation providers, and travel brands that demonstrate ethical business practices, transparency, and a stated commitment to responsible tourism. Where available, I consider suppliers that provide sustainability reporting, recognised certifications, or clearly articulated policies relating to environmental management, social responsibility, and animal welfare. I acknowledge that standards and verification methods vary across destinations and suppliers.

4. Continuous Learning and Improvement

I am committed to ongoing learning to strengthen my understanding of sustainability, ethical tourism, and animal welfare. I periodically review my processes and decision-making frameworks to reflect evolving industry guidance, emerging best practices, and the principles outlined in this pledge, recognising that improvement is an ongoing process rather than a fixed outcome.

5. Transparent and Accurate Communication

I commit to communicating clearly and honestly about sustainability-related considerations in travel, avoiding exaggerated, misleading, or unsubstantiated claims. My aim is to provide customers with balanced and accurate information that supports informed decision-making. Where recommendations involve wildlife, animal encounters, or nature-based activities, I will clearly reference and apply the principles set out in my Animal Welfare Policy.
